Accessibility Statement
Sona Systems is committed to making our customer-facing products, services, and resources accessible to the broadest possible range of users. Accessibility is part of how we design, build, review, and support our software, including the Sona Systems web application, administrative interfaces, mobile application, public website, and documentation.
- Sona Systems uses WCAG 2.1 Level AA as our accessibility standard.
- We also evaluate accessibility with reference to Section 508 and EN 301 549.
- We maintain an up-to-date VPAT / Accessibility Conformance Report that is available upon request.
Our accessibility work includes navigation, form behavior, keyboard access, screen reader compatibility, color contrast, error messaging, and the usability of workflows that participants, researchers, administrators, and other users rely on.
Accessibility is reviewed during product specification and design, and again during implementation validation before new features are released. Our validation may include keyboard-only testing, screen reader review, browser-based accessibility tools, and targeted checks against applicable WCAG success criteria, depending on the nature of the change. Known accessibility gaps that would prevent users from successfully using Sona Systems are treated as release-blocking issues for new work.
When accessibility concerns are identified, either through internal review, customer audits, procurement reviews, VPAT review, or customer reports, they are treated as important product defects. These issues are reviewed by our product team, tracked in our product backlog, and prioritized for prompt remediation based on the severity of the barrier and its impact on users. Accessibility issues that interfere with successful use of the product are among our highest-priority defects.
Customers are encouraged to report any accessibility concern to [email protected], where Sona staff will review the report and route it to the appropriate team for review and follow-up. To help us investigate and address issues quickly, please include the page URL, affected user or role, browser and device, assistive technology being used, steps to reproduce the issue, and any screenshots or recordings that help demonstrate the concern.
If an accessibility issue prevents a user from completing a task, Sona support can help coordinate assistance while the issue is being reviewed.
Some content in Sona Systems may be created or configured by customer administrators. While Sona provides an accessible platform, customers are responsible for ensuring that institution-created content entered into the system is accessible.
We review this statement periodically and update it as our products, standards, and accessibility practices evolve.
